Zebra Eclipse is proud to welcome Edinburgh-based artist, Galaxy Award-nominated fiction author, experienced journalist and celebrity interviewer Bronwen Winter Phoenix as our Creative Director.

Bronwen has helped transform Zebra Eclipse from being a blog into a fully-fledged company.
The ex-Johnson Press reporter writes for all the studio blogs, is responsible for their look and feel (always a work in progress), is an on-scene and product-in-hand reviewer, TikTok video creator, logo designer in charge of all creative assets, and our resident female John Wick of content.
Having ran her own news and weirdness blog for a time called ‘Feral Army‘ (where the only weapons were words) albeit on a smaller scale, Bronwen is no stranger to coming up with great content.
Speaking of joining Zebra Eclipse, Bronwen said: “Now that I’ve taken some time to focus on my art, I realised I really missed being able to just write things for fun, and having a platform to express myself. I feel like Zebra Eclipse gives me that, and Girdy’s made me feel really welcome.”
Andrew (Girdy) Girdwood, MD and founder of Zebra Eclipse, said: “I’m absolutely delighted!”
He continued: “In my wildest dreams, I dared to find a talent like Bronwen but never expected it to actually happen. Bronwen has run a content marketing agency, and she knows the score at a level even some of the most experienced journalists struggle with.”
Some of our readers (and podcast listeners) may have seen Bronwen’s name coming up again and again on Geek Native, In Pure Spirit and Edinburgh Reviews – where she often forms part of the duo ‘Girdy & Birdy‘ for joint review purposes. She’s pretty much a regular fixture now.

Bronwen said: “Yeah, I’m basically part of the furniture at this point. I couldn’t be happier with the easy, natural way myself and Girdy work together, and from a chance meeting to registering a full-blown company, this has turned into one helluva rollercoaster I never want to get off from!”
She continued: “So far, I’ve found myself reviewing amazing food, finding a home for all of my eccentric ramblings – and writing some new ones – rowing on the canal, shooting hoops, coming up with new and creative ways to get Zebra Eclipse out there, and designing new logos to help us put our best foot forward! What’s next? I can’t wait to find out.”
The collective noun for Zebra is ‘dazzle’, and with Bronwen, we’re sure to dazzle (blame Girdy for that line).
He said: “Yeah, I know, it’s true but cheesy and thankfully, none of us here are lactose intolerant. Now is the perfect chance for a dinosaur-themed mocktail bar in Edinburgh to get in touch with a horror movie night”.
Girdy and Bronwen have big plans for Zebra Eclipse, and as a company one of the most significant periods for us will be August, during the Edinburgh Fringe – with Zebra Eclipse being media accredited for the first time. It may be one of the first true tests!
Stay tuned, and don’t forget to check back here for all things Zebra Eclipse!
